About

I’m David Justin, and depending on the day, you might find me deep in a BIG-IP configuration, behind a camera at a wedding or convention, or working on a story that’s been living in my head.
My professional foundation is network engineering — I’ve spent over a decade working with enterprise infrastructure, specializing in F5 BIG-IP systems, DNS/GTM, and application delivery for organizations that can’t afford downtime. I work independently under the Tekis name, taking on consulting and contract engagements where deep technical expertise and clear communication both matter. Outside of client work, I run an active homelab where I build and test tools for network change management and automation — partly for my own workflow, partly because I like understanding systems from the inside out.
The other half of what I do is entirely creative. I run an event photography business built around a custom green-screen compositing setup, shooting everything from conventions to weddings with a Nikon D850 and printing on-site with professional dye-sublimation equipment. I also sell fine art photography — wildlife, birds of prey, and more intimate portrait work — through an online gallery. That connection to birds of prey runs deeper than the camera, too: since 1994, I’ve volunteered with Last Chance Forever, a birds of prey conservation organization based in San Antonio, running sound for their educational shows, handling raptors directly, and helping transport injured birds to their facility.
When I’m not behind a lens, I’m behind a mic: I host a regular karaoke show and DJ for Flipside, a regional Burning Man event, and I’m a member of a local artists’ collective here in Texas. I’m also an emerging screenwriter, currently developing feature-length projects across genre fiction.
What ties all of it together is the same instinct — whether I’m troubleshooting a network, composing a shot, or building a story, I like figuring out how something works and then making it better.
